He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo E. Nelson and Genevive M. Nelson; and his wife Elizabeth J. Nelson (Mulkie). He is survived by: his girlfriend Elizabeth Levine (BA); his siblings, Mark Nelson (Janice Nelson), Matthew Nelson, Kim DiRienzo and Mary Huffman (Clint Huffman); his brother-in-law John Mulkie (Patti Mulkie); his cousins, Christine and Howard Stone; and his siblings' children, Sarah Nelson, Ryan Huffman, John DiRienzo Jr., Catherine Nelson, Conner Huffman, Emilia DiRienzo, Caitlyn Lindemuth, Sarah Lostumbo and Bethany Mulkie.
