He was predeceased by: his parents, William Ayers, Sr. and Shirley Patton Ayers; his daughter Lisa Ayers; his grandson Ralph William Goble; and his siblings, Charlene Yurko, Rae Ayers, Cindy Ayers, Jack and Joe Ayers.

He is survived by: his wife Brenda Keller Ayers; his daughters, Kim Goble of Wilkes-Barre, Jennifer Smith of Tunkhannock and Julie Jesso (Greg) of Loyalville; his siblings, Dan Ayers (Lori), Holly Malinowski (Rich), Kelly Johnson (Marc) and Todd Ayers (Kim); his grandchildren, Thomas, Andrew, Garrett, Cody, Brandon, William, Lacey, Edward and Raymond; his great grandchildren, Corline, Maelee and Scarlett; and his pets, Sam, Delilah, Nola and Buddy Blue. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
