He was predeceased by : his parents, Fred Somerset and Berthel Taylor Somerset; his brothers, Willard Somerset (Audrey) of Harrisburg, PA and Carl Somerset of Sharon; his wife Charlotte; his son Ernest L. Somerset Jr.; and his siblings, Eric Somerset and Delores Somerset.

He is survived by : his children, Arelette Wilson (Norman) of Farrell, Lezlie Somerset Pope of Farrell, Corwin Somerset of Farrell, Jermaine Somerset of Virginia and Yauna Hyatt of Cleveland; his grandchildren, Symone, Markell Somerset, Alonzo Scott and Jordann Wilson; and his great grandchildren, Loralita and DeMaryius Scott.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Greater Morris Chapel (926 Darr Ave, Farrell, PA 16121). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
