He was predeceased by: his parents, William B. Hobson Sr. and Pearline Hobson (Ellis). He is survived by: his wife Maureen Scarvel; his children, Daphne Austin (Howard) of Sanford, FL, Kamryn Christian of Sanford, FL, Nerissa Hobson (Kevin) of Sharon, PA, Nicole Martin (Isaiah) of Stow, OH, Nadine Hobson of Farrell, PA and Melvin Hobson Jr. of Farrell, PA; his grandchildren, Asha, Howard, Luther, Jadell, Lesedi, Amelia and Kevin Jr. "Vinny"; and his siblings, Edward Earl Hobson, Jeffery Hobson, Rev. Darrold Hobson (Penny), William Hobson Jr. (Debra), Kimberly Hobson, Shawn Hobson and Sandra Hobson.
Visitation was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Sample-O'Donnell Funeral Home (555 E State St, Sharon, PA 16146).
