It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Duane Franklin Root Jr. of Fawn Grove, Pennsylvania, who passed away on October 6, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Duane Franklin Root Sr. and Hannetta Root (Crone); his former wife Pearl Root; his wife Marilyn Root; his daughter Denise Lafferty; and his siblings, Steven and Beatrice.
He is survived by: his sons, Randy D. Root, Eric J. Root and Virgil T. Root (Becky); his grandchildren, Jessica, John, Tim, Kimberly, Diana, Eric, Virgil and Bryan; and his siblings, Gladys Tesh of Wisconsin and Fred Root of Rochester, NY.. He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Hartenstein Funeral and Cremation Care, Inc. - Stewartstown (19 S Main St, Stewartstown, PA 17363). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
