He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Murar Gernat and Peter Gernat; his wife Edie; his son Regis; and his sisters, Elizabeth Gernat Bresuciak (Betty) and Mildred Gernat.
He is survived by: his children, Sherry L. Gernat Murphy (James), Mark A. Gernat, Christopher J. (Natalia Rusak) and Jennifer L. Gernat (Leslie A. Collier). He is also survived by his 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Duster Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. (347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, PA 15084). A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 from 10:45 AM to 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of Hope Cemetery (1898 Bakerstown Rd, Tarentum, PA 15084).
