He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Shafer (Kaplan); his children, Donna Shafer and William R. Shafer, Jr.; his stepchildren, Adam Siegel, Robert Siegel and Diana Nash; and his brother Gene Shafer. He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Quincy Cemetery (6555 Cemetery Lane, Quincy, PA 17247).
