He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Zaitz and Katherine Zaitz; and his siblings, Frank Zaitz, Mary Zaitz, Josephine "Sophie" Orasin and Frances Wojcik.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Zaitz (Yeskatalas); his children, Fred Zaitz of Medford, NJ and Kathryn Zaitz of Atlanta, GA; and his grandchildren, Matthew, Zachary, Benjamin Zaitz and Dean Fullerton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Frederick's name to the Browndale Fire Company.
