He was predeceased by: his parents, Desikachari Rajan and Jayalakshmi Rajan; and his sister Vijaya. He is survived by: his wife Chitra; his sons, Suneal and Sanjay; and his siblings, Prema, Krishna, Saroja, Kumar and Murali.
