He was predeceased by: his parents, James S. Harper, and Fannie Smith Harper, Sr.; his wife Patricia A. Connor Harper; and his grandchildren, Michelle Harper and Max Waples.
He is survived by: his children, Jane Winter (Rick) of Neshkoro, WI and James S. Harper, III (Susan) of Chelsea; his grandchildren, Lauren Fitz-Gerald (Douglas) and Mitch Winter; and his great grandchildren, Theo Galanti, Charlie, Oliver and Harper Fitz-Gerald.
