She was predeceased by: her parents, Lee Ellwood and Grace L. Ross Hovis; her husband Lewis A. Hays; her son Donald L. Hays; and her siblings, John Hicks, Joan Attleberger and Donald Hovis.
She is survived by: her children, Michael L. Hays (Lisa) of Franklin, Susan M. Newton of Cooperstown and Kimber M. Snyder of Franklin; and her grandchildren, Brandi Cherry (Michael) of Cooperstown, Heidi Phillips of Franklin, Chad Phillips (Ashleigh) of Cooperstown, Michael Hays, Jr. (Tiffany) of Franklin, Kristy Thompson (Dustin) of Franklin, Jennifer Johnson of Franklin, Ashley Cherry (Jordan) of Franklin and Kristen Reagle (Cody) of Fredonia. She is also survived by her 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gardinier-Warren Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. (1315 Chestnut St, Franklin, PA 16323). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Franklin Area Child Development Center, 614 11th Street, Franklin, PA 16323. The family greatly appreciates donations made to these charities in Joyce M. Hays 's name.
