She was predeceased by: her parents, Otis Smith and Lois Morford; and her stepfather Eugene Morford (Spanky Lavalliere). She is survived by: her daughter-in-law Hannah; her husband Jerry Peterson of Franklin; her sons, Nathan (Maranda) of Pittsburgh and Corey (Hannah) of Maui, Hawaii; her sisters, Jane Liptak and Judy Heath of Orlando; and her pets, Mia, Burt, Leon, Ziggy and June.

In lieu of flowers, charitable donations in Sandy's name can be made to the BDSRA Foundation (bdsra foundation.org) or the Franklin Church of the Nazarene.
