He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor Hopkins and Adeline Harmon Plunkett; his siblings, Gene Plunkett, Jeanette Harris and Neva Lee Mayette; and his son Victor H. Plunkett Jr. (Butch).

He is survived by: his children, JoAnn Straub of Cooperstown, PA and David Plunkett of Stamford, CT; his grandchildren, Jacob A. Kunz, Victor Plunkett, Brandi R. Straub, Kendall S. Straub and Vanessa James; and his great grandchildren, Andrew J. Kunz (AJ) and Johnython Hammond.
