She was predeceased by : her parents, Adolf Sonnett and Helen Watson Sonnett; and her husband George Messer. She is survived by : her children, Ray Messer (Nancy) of Cincinnati, OH, Robert Messer of Centerville, PA and Debra Vaughn of Hickory, NC; her grandchildren, April Perston of Baldwin, PA, Robert Shawn Messer (Kristine Behrens-Messer), Keara Welsh (Robert) of Washington, PA, Christopher Messer (Hannah Fordin) of New Paltz, Samantha Messer (Oleg) of Cincinnati, OH and Savannah Vaughn of Silver Springs, MD; and her great grandchildren, Braedon Welsh, Brooklynn Welsh, Allison Derrick (Richie) of Baldwin, PA and Elizabeth Perston. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 11th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home (2830 Main St, Scenery Hill, PA 15313). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
