She was predeceased by: her parents, Monroe Martin and Gertrude Mitchell Carpenter; her husband Charles M. Nelson; and her siblings, Leonard C. Carpenter, Robert I. Carpenter, Monroe Seldon Carpenter, Douglas M. "Skip" Carpenter, Bonita Anne Carpenter and Neva Hardy Stockstill.
She is survived by: her children, C. Dean Nelson (Charlene) of Genesee, Thomas M. Nelson (Dawn) of Ulysses and Carrie Lee Nelson (Dick) of Genesee; and her siblings, Norma Cobb Nichols of Coudersport, Beverly Lehman of Ulysses and James Carpenter (Ruth) of Carbondale. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren.
