He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert A. Groft and Regina M. Groft (Pohlman); and his grandchildren, Megan Lewis and Kevin Lewis. He is survived by: his wife Lorna D. Groft (Loss); his children, Randy Groft (Rhonda), Brenda Lewis (Roger) and Lori Groft; and his siblings, Jeanne Orndorff and Donald Groft. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Viewing was held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Murphy-Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc. (501 Ridge Ave, McSherrystown, PA 17344). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
