We announce the death of David Wayne Karppala Sr. of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, who passed away on August 26, 2026, at the age of 77. David will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Laurie Armas Karppala and Esther Dunham Wilson Karppala; his wife Susan Lynn Caron Karppala; his siblings, Laurie, Aaron, Shirley, Esther, Faith and Deborah; and his grandchildren, Skyler, Landon and Zoey.
Viewing was held on Sunday, September 6th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home (212 E 4th St, Watkins Glen, NY 14891). A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 6th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the same location. A reception was held on Sunday, September 6th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the The Barn at Stoney Creek (4229 NY-79, Burdett, NY 14818).
