It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elinor Colleen Bender of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, who passed away on December 19, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Settle and Edna Settle (Stevens); her husband George Ross Bender; her siblings, Paul M., Jack R. and Marion P. Settle; and her great grandchild Christopher Joseph Bender.
She is survived by: her children, George Thomas (Mary Bender), Janet Lee (Paul Lutz), Lois Anne Steinour and Karen "Petey" Bender; her friend Emily Harte; her grandchildren, Dr. Nicholas Paul (Elizabeth), Benjamin James, Anthony Michael Steinour, Jessica Lee (Brandon Gordon), Andrew Thomas Bender (Krista), Erika Lee (Robert Thomas) and Morgan Taylor Lutz; her great grandchildren, Landen Michael, Andrew Thomas II, Gracie Anne, Elinor Jean, Davis Paul, Gavin Jacob, Sadie James, Layla Mae, Genevieve Ruth and Lincoln Oliver; and her brother J. William Settle of Gettysburg, PA..
