With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James P. Deardorff of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, who passed away on November 12, 2023 at the age of 69. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Ray Deardorff and Geraldine Deardorff (Kimple); and his sisters, Joanne Esham and Marie Trimmer. He is survived by : his wife Joyce D. Deardorff (Dubbs); his children, Stephanie Embree of Green Lane, PA, Elizabeth Orth of Gettysburg and Jimmy Deardorff of Orrtanna, PA; his grandchildren, Brad Embree, Faith Steiner, Bridget, Caylee and Daniel Deardorff; and his siblings, Richard Deardorff, Mary Wyatt, Carol Eichelberger and Jeanne Weber. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

“I will miss the conversations with Jim when he was in the hospital. He was an easy patient and always courteous. He was so caring about Joyce and his family whom he spoke about often. Joyce, I am sorry to hear of your loss. Your care for him was evident in all you did for him while in the hospital, your presence gave him such comfort.”
