He was predeceased by : his parents, Frederick H. Smith and Katherine Pyle Smith; and his brother Frederick S. Smith. He is survived by : his wife Jeannette Chaffee Smith; his daughters, Rebecca Smith and Christine Smith (Ryan Allred); his grandsons, Fletcher and James Allred; his stepson Andrew Chapo (Victoria); his sister Katherine Carlozzi; and his sister-in-law Suzanne Smith. He is also survived by two nieces, a nephew, and many cousins.
