La Rue (Lindy) of Tunkhannock, PA, James R. Akins of Kunkletown, PA and Ryan C. Akins of Exeter, PA; his stepsons, Joshua Leap of Effort, PA and Jason Leap (Sarah) of Lebanon, PA.; his grandchildren, Sadie, Riley, Hailey, Levi, Gabriel, Logan and Stephanie; his siblings, Andrew J. Akins (Laura) of Eagleville, PA, Sean M. Akins (Renee) of Red Hill, PA and Cara Woudenberg (Robert) of Collegeville, PA; his in-laws, Eric King of Tunkhannock, PA, Edward King of Stroudsburg, PA, Keith King (Tammy) of Stroudsburg, PA and Susan King of Kunkletown, PA; his mother-in-law Margaret King of Stroudsburg, PA; and his aunts, Alice DenHaese of Albrightsville, PA and Marian Witalec of Sarasota, FL. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 5th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Gower Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. (1426 US-209, Gilbert, PA 18331). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 5th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in loving memory of James Scott Akins may be made to Father Judge High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
