He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Walter "Butch" Lane and Marianna Darling Lane; and his brother Jeffrey Scott Lane. He is survived by: his wife Kimberly Butts Lane; his son Alexander Carl Lane; his daughter-in-law Shelbi Lane; his daughter Olivia Madilynn Lane; his grandson Joseph Carl Lane; his stepmother Sandra Lane; his brother Michael Craig Lane; his sister-in-law Stephanie Lane; his sister Susan Rae Lane Olbrys; and his siblings-in-law, Tim Olbrys and Kristi Lane. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
