We announce the death of Barbara Desko of Girard, Pennsylvania, who passed away on October 19, 2026, at the age of 92. Barbara will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Elder and Sadie Elder (Hess); her husband Michael Desko; and her siblings, Betty Hartman, Robert Elder Jr. and James Elder.
She is survived by: her children, Linda L. Johnson (Thomas), Cheryl A. Weithman (Mark), Michelle M. Fisher (Donald) and Robert M. Desko (Betty); her siblings, Sue Hull and Samuel Elder (Dorothy); her grandchildren, Michael, Robert, Nicholas, Adam, Aaron, Chelsea, Kristen and Donald III; and her great grandchildren, Treydon, Owen, Leland, Kendra, Tyler, Mackenzie, Mabel, Margaret and Ophelia.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church (8942 W Ridge Rd, Girard, PA 16417).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Manchester Commons Benevolent Fund, 6351 W. Lake Rd. Erie, PA 16505.
