Richard Tolbert Obituary
We announce the death of Richard Tolbert of Girard, Pennsylvania, who passed away on October 2, 2026, at the age of 81. Richard will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Richard will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Richard will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture his life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Richard’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Dick Tolbert and Elizabeth Tolbert (Kauffman); and his son Brook R. Tolbert. He is survived by: his wife Verity Tolbert (Houser); his sister Patricia "Pat" Radtke (Gary); his daughter-in-law Jennifer Tolbert; and his grandsons, Jacob R. and Alex E. Tolbert. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The military honors will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Parklwans Memorial Gardens (3218 Philadelphia Ave, Chambersburg, PA 17201).
