She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Edward J. Kompare; her children, Emily H. Kompare, Gregory S. Kompare and Megan K. Kompare; her parents, George Meinzer and Cecelia Gall; her siblings, Gretchen Nicholson (Martin), Heidi Meinzer and Shay Meinzer; and her sisters-in-law, Deanna Zitzmann (Michael) and Sandra Rose (Bruce). She was also cherished by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and a great-nephew.
