He was predeceased by: his parents, Nicholas Lugin and Anna Lugin (Kopistansky); his stepfather Andrew Shaytar; his wife Maryann Lugin (Hartung); and his siblings, Harry, William, Andrew, Michael, John, Steve, Jim, Esther, Florence and Ann.

He is survived by: his children, Adele Dott (Phil), Nancy Friedman (Peter), Nicholas Lugin (Jo), Mark Lugin (Diane) and Claire Yeskey (Dan); his brother George Shaytar (Nancy); and his sisters-in-law, Joann Shaytar and Franny Jocuns.
