He was predeceased by: his son Scott Kakavis; and his mother Eugenia Kakavis. He is survived by: his wife Betty Kakavis (Scott); his daughter Susan Powers (Michael); his granddaughters, Alyssa and Julia Powers; his sibling's children, Gillian, Courtney (Michael) and Devon (Derek); and his parent Soterios Kakavis.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 4th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Bock Funeral Home (1500 Mt Royal Blvd, Glenshaw, PA 15116). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church (985 Providence Blvd, Pittsburgh, PA 15237).
