He was predeceased by: his parents, Davide Bennardo and Fortuna Turano; his wife Maria "Assunta" Bennardo; and his siblings, Franco, Salvatore, Rosetta and Maria.

He is survived by: his children, Maria Paterra (Emidio) and Salvatore Bennardo (Amy); his sibling's children, Edward Newill (Jennifer) and Angela Natoli (Ron); his grandchildren, Angela Schillizzi (Ryan), Dante Paterra (Sara), Emidio Paterra, Nathan Bennardo and Kara Bennardo; and his great grandchildren, Mabel Paterra and Andrew Schillizzi.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Good Samaritan Hospice, 146 Neely School Road, Wexford, PA 15090.
