He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Shirk and Anna Shirk (Horning); his wife Ethel Mae Shirk (Haas); his son Gary Shirk; and his siblings, Earl Shirk, Elam Shirk, Eugene Shirk, Leon Shirk, Betty Tshudy, Barbara Beam, Arlene Rathman and Anna Mae Wenrich.
He is survived by: his sons, Doug Shirk of Shillington, Randy Shirk of Morgantown and Steve Shirk (Tammy Williams) of New Holland; his close friend Patricia Hiester of Gordonville; his grandchildren, Gary Paul Shirk, Kerry Shirk and Randy Anthony Shirk (Courtney); and his great grandchild Jace Shirk. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
