He was predeceased by: his parents, William B. Hawkins and Alice Hawkins (Leslie). He is survived by: his wife Margaret Hawkins (Aber); his daughter Beatrice Hawkins; his siblings, Charles Hawkins (Vicky) and Mary Olver; and his stepsiblings, Herbert Erfurt and Anna Steadman. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
