It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ray W. Mowen Sr. of Greencastle, Pennsylvania, who passed away on November 22, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Ray may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Ray leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Preston M. Mowen and Anna M. Mowen (Helfrick). He is survived by: his wife Barbara V. Mowen (Rowe) of Greencastle, PA; his children, Cynthia "Cindy" Bachtell (Dan) of Chambersburg, PA, Ray W. "Butch" Mowen, Jr. (Barb) of Marion, PA and Keith L. Mowen (Cheryl) of Greencastle, PA; and his brother Frank L. Mowen (Louise) of Greencastle, PA. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 8th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A memorial service was held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Church (45 N Washington St, Greencastle, PA 17225).
