We announce the death of Gary E. Tarr of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, who passed away on September 2, 2026, at the age of 88. Gary will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Gary’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Grace Tarr (Byers) and Sherman L. Tarr; his brother Sherman Tarr, Jr.; and his brother-in-law Leroy Niehenke. He is survived by: his daughter Coleen G. Irwin (Bill) of Armbrust; his sister Shirley Niehenke; his sister-in-law Janet Tarr; and his close friend Patti Cox. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
