He was predeceased by: his parents, John D. Lyons and Gladys E. Kettering Lyons; his wife Betty Jo Reynolds Lyons; his siblings, Esther Walthour (James H.) and John "Jack" D. Lyons (Ruth); and his niece Victrina Lea Lyons.
He is survived by: his daughters, Linda Shawl (James) and JoEllen Lyons Dillon (David); his grandchildren, Alissa Garcia (Daniel), Lauren Shawl, James Shawl (Emily), Brandon Shawl, Wesley Dillon, David Dillon and Dany Dillon; his great grandchildren, Grant Shawl, Sophia Garcia and Jacob Garcia; his nephew James D. Walthour (April); and his nieces, Melanie Lyons Stegner, Jan Lyons Anderson and Jill Lyons Clark (Bryant). He is also survived by numerous other nieces and nephews.
