He was predeceased by: his parents, Laura Ruth (Truxal) and Kenneth Alfred Sprung; his wife Joyce Marie (Lucas); his son John Jr.; and his siblings, Euguene, Dorothy, Ruth Ann and Richard.
He is survived by: his children, Theodore E. 'Butch Sprung (Dianne) of Greensburg and Terri L. Walton of Greensburg; his daughter-in-law Melanie Sprung of Latrobe; and his grandchildren, April Caldwell (Bryan), Matthew Sprung (Alison), Marissa Sprung, Justin Walton (Michelle), Marlena Sprung (Randy Kenney), Heather Lipinski (Tim), Rachelle Rice (Harold) and Nick Walton (Jessica). He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
