He was predeceased by: his parents, Wesley T. Smith and Caroline Smith (Loughner); his wife Barbara F. Smith (Barnhart); and his siblings, William, George, Robert, Roy, Carl Smith, Ruth Olmer, Edna "Patty" Smith and Betsy Smith of Greensburg.

He is survived by: his sister Dorothy Billger of Allentown.
