He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph H. Jr. Thomas and Mary Belle Boggs Thomas; and his brothers, Joseph, James and Walter Thomas.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Hawk Thomas; his sons, Gerald Thomas (Cheryl) of Greensburg and Dale Thomas (Marj) of Kittanning; his granddaughters, Karen Nichols (John), Amy Cruz (Jeffrey), Michelle Zervins (Daniel) and Anna Thomas; and his great grandchildren, Ella Nichols and Maxwell Cruz.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the church for food programs.
