Richard G. Mayer Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard G. Mayer of Greentown, Pennsylvania, who passed away on November 6, 2025 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Mayer and Mildred Mayer (Dwyer). He is survived by: his wife Karen Mayer (Poppe); his children, Denis Mayer (Dawn) of Congers, NY, Douglas Mayer (Gabrielle) of Washington Crossing, PA, Michael Mayer (Andrea) of Carbondale, PA, Jeffrey Mayer (Sarah) of Easton, PA and Kris Gager (Brent) of Elmhurst Township, PA.; his siblings, Robert Mayer of Riverhead, NY and Patricia Unger of North Babylon, NY; and his grandchildren, McKenzie, Tyler, Paige, Ryan, Kyra, Marissa, Brody, Sean, Brooke, Amanda, Ryder, Sierra, Matthew and Emily. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 10th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Duffy and Snowdon Funeral Home (401 Church St, Moscow, PA 18444). A Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 11th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Eulalia's Church (214 Blue Shutters Rd, Roaring Brook Township, PA 18444).
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or St Francis of Assisi Kitchen, 500 Penn Ave, Scranton, PA 18509.
