He was predeceased by: his parents, Eli, Sr. Shumar and Sophia Zavilinsky Shumar; his former wife Ruth Ann Tait Shumar; his sister Mary Louise Dubbs; and his nephew Stephen Dubbs.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Shumar; his children, Richard Shumar (Kristen) of Grindstone and Tina Remington (Shawn) of New Salem; his stepchildren, Andy Hlatky (Hope) of New Salem, PA and Christina Yanak (Ronald); his grandchildren, Luke Shumar, Sarah Shumar, Peyton Remington, Shawn Remington and Taylor Remngton; his stepgrandchildren, Amber Lubinsky, Jessica Yanak, Vincent Yanak, Emily Yanak, Daniel Britz, Elizabeth Britz, Chase Perla, Jaxson Perla, Brittany Remington and Bethany Remington; and his siblings, Jacquline Bellan (Ed) and Greg Shumar (Teresa). He is also survived by 10 step great grandchildren.
