He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Dodd and Catherine Stadnyk Dodd; his grandson Jason Pyle; his siblings, Ronald "Butch" Dodd and Sheila; and his brother-in-law Bob Smith.

He is survived by: his children, Dale Dodd (Candi) of Mercer and Tracy Pyle (Dave) of Grove City; his grandchildren, Chance Hall (Kendra) of Beebe, AR, Dylan Dodd (Angela) of Mercer, Kaylin Farmer (Joe) of Butler, Jaxen Pyle of Grove City and Lukas Pyle of Grove City; his great grandchildren, Jadyn, Kendlyn, Madisyn and Langstyn; his sister Kathy Mullen (Paul) of Fredonia; and his sister-in-law Phyllis Dodd of Karns City. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
