We announce the death of Wilbur E. Prouse (Halifax, Pennsylvania), who passed away on October 10, 2026, at the age of 88. He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Willard G. Prouse and Emma H. Prouse (Seese); his grandson Jeremy Shomper; and his siblings, Viola Mae Hoover, Helen Wooters, Alice Malidore, James Prouse, Roland Prouse, William Prouse and Clarence Prouse.
He is survived by: his wife Loretta P. Prouse (Houtz); his children, Michele (Ted Shomper) of Halifax, Kevin (Bobbie Prouse) of Millersburg, Jeffrey (Rhonda Prouse) of Halifax and Dwight (Aline Prouse) of Fort Mill, SC.; his grandchildren, April, Megan, Tanner, Kaleb, Tori, Ethan, Joshua, Isabella and Matthew; his great grandchildren, Madison, Jaymes, Andrew, Estyn, Jack, Aletheia, Sophia, Agatha, Emmet, Declan and Connor; and his sister Wanda Benner of Millerstown.
Viewing will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Zion Stone United Methodist Church (385 Million Dollar Rd, Halifax, PA 17032). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
