He is survived by: his wife Nancy; his sons, Alan James Jr. (Maria) of Lenoir City and Jonathan (Jessica) of Ridgefield, Connecticut; his brother Robert Hinkley of Vestal; and his grandchildren, Matthew, Joshua, Kathryn (Gracey), Kiera, Duncan and Grayson.
