He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Shafer and Alice Shafer (Marsh); and his siblings, Edwin Shafer, Jr. and Jean Rutt. He is survived by: his daughters, Victoria Smith, Lisa Sargent, Denise Lapp and Carla Shafer; and his sisters, Lois Smith and Jenny Snyder. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and loyal friends.
