With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Phyllis Elaine Meckes of Hamilton, Pennsylvania, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 28, 2026 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Phyllis may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Hittinger and Dorothy Hittinger Hollenbach (Dreher). She is survived by: her husband Louis L. Meckes Jr. of Stroudsburg, PA; her children, Scott Meckes of Stroudsburg, PA, Brian Meckes (Jackie) of Harrington, DE, Brenda Lipsky (Mark) of Stroudsburg, PA, Beth Mays of Saylorsburg, PA and Cindy Taylor (Frank) of Nazareth, PA.; and her siblings, Eileen Ackerman of Melbourne, FL and Carl Hittinger (Shelley) of Rydal, PA.. She is also survived by six grandchildren, two adopted grandchildren, five great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
