He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl W. Bortner and Alva I. Bortner (Markle). He is survived by: his wife Sharon F. Saltzgiver-Bortner; his daughters, Lauren R. Gerlach (Brian) of Hanover, PA and Melinda C. Stambaugh (Keith) of Hanover, PA; his grandchildren, Thomas (Nicole), Philip, Jacob, Caleb (Mark), Saranda (Tom), Ethan, Malcolm, Cooper, Ian (Meeghan) and Nathan; and his brother Glen Bortner (Sara) of Ormond Beach, FL.. He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. (269 Frederick St, Hanover, PA 17331).
