He was predeceased by: his parents, James Smith and Anna Smith (McEvoy); his spouse Shirley Jean Smith (Bishop); his sons, Robert Smith, Jr. and Rodney Smith; and his siblings, Bernard, James, John, Kenneth, Ed, Henrietta, Margaret, Marie and Eileen.
He is survived by: his children, Ronald Smith of New Oxford, Richard Smith of Hanover, Barbara Jean Hoover (Smith) of New Oxford and Roland Smith; and his brother Joe Smith. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
