He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Anne Gross (Brady); his parents, Charles F. Gross and Mary Ellen Gross (Seymore); his daughter Rebecca Bollinger; and his siblings, Joseph Gross and Charmaine "Peg" Gross.
He is survived by: his children, Dorothy Murren (Joseph), Kimberley Bence (Thomas), Charles Gross, Colleen Laughman (Keith), Janice Smith (Daniel), John Gross (Cheryl) and Lynda Steinbeck (Peter); his sister Mary Ellen "Snook" Strausbaugh; and his sister-in-law Sharyn Gross. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Murphy-Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc. (501 Ridge Ave, McSherrystown, PA 17344). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Basilica (30 Basilica Dr, Hanover, PA 17331).
