With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of William H. McCandless of Harmony, Pennsylvania, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 9, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy William leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though William may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbur H. McCandless and Bonnie Davidson McCandless; his wife Carol L. Mincer McCandless; and his son Jeffrey McCandless. He is survived by: his children, Marsha McCandless of Harmony, Bradley William McCandless (Darcie) of Evans City and Craig McCandless (Linda) of Slippery Rock; and his sister Donna Decker of Harmony. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 12th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. (238 Crowe Ave, Mars, PA 16046). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 12th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to the Callery Volunteer Fire Company or to Old Union Presbyterian Church of Grace Bible Church.
