With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Barton Kennedy Philipps in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 17, 2025 at the age of 85. He was predeceased by: his daughter Kimberly Philipps Moore. He is survived by: his wife Alberta Kline Philipps (Bobbi); his children, Barton Philipps (Barb) and Susan Philipps Hoover (Chris); his great grandchildren, Thomas Doran and Allison Doran; his sister-in-law Joan H. Kline of Brentwood, N. Y.; his sibling's children, Nicole McGarth (Ed), Meredith King (Kevin), Melinda Linville (John) of Dorothy, NJ, Alyse Leatherwood NJ (Kevin) and James Grouse; and his friend John Bugary.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home, Ltd. - Millersburg (118 S Market Square, Millersburg, PA 17061). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the same location.
In addition, he was awarded 3 National Science Foundation grants for the University of Northern Arizona, Auburn University and the University of Iowa.
