We are sad to announce that on September 25, 2025, at the age of 90, D. R. Gilmore, D. D. (Harrisburg, Pennsylvania) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid farewell to this luminous soul, let his loved ones carry forward the torch of his memory, illuminating the path ahead with the warmth of his love and the brilliance of his spirit. Though D. R. may journey beyond the horizon of our sight, his essence remains woven into the very fabric of our being — a guiding light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the night.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Lottie Williams-Gilmore and Roy Gilmore. He is survived by: his wife Gwendolyn V. Chestnut; his children, Anthony Gilmore Sr., Kevin Gilmore Sr. (La-Kita), Jeffrey Gilmore Sr. (Chamane), Cassandra Gilmore-Jones (Al Jones) and Jeremy Gilmore Sr. (Monisha); and his sisters, Brenda Ann Murphy (Larry) and Dessie Lee. He is also survived by his grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Shiloh Church of God in Christ (5950 Derry St, Harrisburg, PA 17111). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
