He is survived by: his grandparents, Milton and Joanne Watson; his parents, Darnell Hicks Sr. and Terah Tippitt; his grandmother Joani Hicks; and his siblings, Tasheeka Tippitt, Alexia Cumberbatch, Aiden Harris and Terajae Tippitt. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Another highlight of Darnell's life was his trip to California granted by Make-A-Wish Foundation which allowed Darnell and a friend to see his favorite rapper, Nas.
